The Yarble Yellers are a marble sports team that have competed in the Fruit Circuit[1] and the Knikkegen Marble League. They hosted and won the 2006 Fruit Circuit.[2]

The Yarble Yellers have not participated in the Marble League, but were mentioned in Event 10 of Marble League 2020 as their record of 6.014 seconds for 5 Meter Sprint was broken by Smoggy of the Hazers, only to be broken again by Sea of the Oceanics.[3]

History[]

The Yarble Yellers come from Yarbas, a major agricultural city just south of the Yahara Desert. The city, nicknamed “the Yapital”, is known for growing and exporting a variety of tubers, especially yams. The city is home to a river port, where ships wait to purchase tubers and ship them around the world. Beyond this, Yarbas is comprised of farmlands, with sprouts reaching into the mainland bordered only by the Yahara and the Tuber River.

Team captain Yell initially recruited the other members of the team to work on their family farm. The five marbles quickly became friends and would communicate with each other by yelling. This started as random words and phrases before developing into a specifically pitched "AAAAAAAAH". When one of the marbles yelled, the others would race to drop off their harvested yams in the store house. Whoever finished last would have to sprint around the farm.

One day Greg Woods visited Yarbas while recruiting teams for the Fruit Circuit. Yell managed to meet them and persuaded Greg to recruit them and they competed in the 2004 Fruit Circuit. The team became one of the most unpredictable in the Fruit Circuit, being fast but unruly, sometimes going so fast they would fly off the course, mostly landing out of bounds but occasionally landing further up the track. This risky move was later dubbed the "Yambush" by Greg. Throughout the ten years in the Fruit Circuit, the Yarble Yellers regularly finished between fifth and tenth, winning races on straightforward tracks but struggling with more complex courses. The team hosted and won the 2006 Fruit Circuit.[1]

After the 2014 season, the team decided they had had enough of the Fruit Circuit and applied to appear in the 2015 Knikkegen Marble League. They felt bad leaving, especially as this was the time the funding for the Circuit started to run out, but they decided to do what was best for the team. Despite being from a different continent, they were accepted into the league due to their association with the Fruit Circuit.

During the 2015 season it was announced that the competition would be ending and being replaced by the Marble League, with places being offered to the top two of the twelve competing teams. At the time of the announcement, the Yarble Yellers were in seventh overall. The team decided to strive for the top and podiumed in each of the track events. It was during this time that Yap set the record in the 5 Meter Sprint which was eventually beaten by Smoggy of the Hazers during Marble League 2020. The team's weakness was again in events needing control like Funnel Spinning and the Halfpipe. Despite the team's efforts, the team would finish in third overall after the team collectively overshot the pool in the final event, Diving, behind Team Primary and the Thunderbolts.

After the end of the Knikkegen Marble League, the team went on a hiatus from marble sports and returned to Yarbas, purchasing their own tuber farm. Despite spending a lot of time growing and exporting yams, the team still goes to Yarble Hill, the location of the team's Fruit Circuit, at weekends to race.[4]

The Yarble Yellers returned to competition in 2020 after being invited to compete in the Herbotamia Reunion alongside the teams from the Hubelino Tournament as well as the Grape Nuts and Team Plasma. The competition happened behind closed doors so the results are unknown.[5]

In 2021, the team returned in the Fruit Circuit Reunion which was organised by the Limers. The Yellers placed third in Race 2 at the Seedway, the track of the Aniseed Balls. Unfortunately, the team would not podium again and they finished the competition in eighth overall.[2]

The Yellers were invited to compete in the Herbotamia Invitational later in 2021, being among the favorites to win. Yell finished third in Event 2, Funnel Endurance; Yap finished fourth in Event 3, the 5 Meter Sprint; the team finished first in Event 4, Collision; and sixth in Event 5, the Minty Mania Grand Prix. This was enough for the Yellers to finish in third overall.[6][7]
