Summer Sky is a blue marble with light blue swirls and they originate from the city of Skaigan.[1] They have competed in the Marble Rally since Sand Marble Rally 2016. Summer Sky is known for their great performances, even though sometimes they don't finish or finish poorly. One of their memorable performances was making a comeback from 9th to a win. Although they are inconsistent, Summer Sky's surprise wins and dominant pace shown on their good days have given them a nice reception among Sand Marble Rally fans.
History
2016
Summer Sky ended Sand Marble Rally 2016 with 126 points, 9th overall, surviving elimination with a win in the elimination race and the season finale.
2017
Summer Sky won their qualification race for Sand Marble Rally 2017. Summer Sky's 2017 campaign was less successful. In Race 1, they started 19th and came through the field to finish 5th after jumping the divider near the end. In Race 2 started 6th, and used their advantage of starting in the front row to get up to an early second. However, Big Pearl, who was in third at the time, overtook them and leader Lollipop. Summer Sky was caught up in the divider again, but was able to mount another challenge for second, and they eventually finished third, holding off a charging Red Number 3. Officially second in the overall standings, they were tied at the top with Lollipop after the race with 25 points. This, however was as good it would get.
In Race 3, Summer Sky had a dismal performance, and eventually came home to finish 15th, scoring 1 point and dropping to 4th in the overall standings. In Race 4, they had a good start, and they were in the top 10 for the first 15 second of the race. Summer Sky, however, eventually DNFed and dropped to 10th in the overall standings. Race 5 was barely any better. Summer Sky finished 13th and they dropped to 13th overall in the standings. In the following race, they finished 14th, but still remained in 13th overall. At this point, they were 40 points, or two race victories, behind leader Quicksilver. Race 7 was not much different. They finished 17th and dropped to 16th place.
From Race 7 to Race 12, they would finish in the top 10 finishes and jump from 16th to 9th.
However, they only managed 15th overall with 80 points in the end, badly affected by the double points in the Final Race, due to a DNF, they dropped 6 spots to finish 15th. Without double points, they would have finished 13th, still with 80 points.
2018
Summer Sky had a bad start to their Sand Marble Rally 2018 qualifying race, but managed to overtake Blizzard Blaster a few seconds after the start. They then went on to challenge El Capitan. They overtook Wisp of Darkness at the last second, and in doing so came in fourth, and did not get relegated to the B-League.
They won Race 1 and in the second race, although they appeared in the top five briefly, they slowly dropped back to twelfth and earned 4 points. Summer Sky was now 2 points ahead of Quicksilver, who earned a silver medal.
A DNF in Race 3 saw Summer Sky drop back to second in the standings behind Quicksilver. 8th place in the 4th race saw Summer Sky drop back into third, behind Superball and Red Number 3. A mediocre finish in Race 5 saw Summer Sky drop into 5th, 22 points adrift of rookie Superball, the current leader. 18th in Race 6 had Summer Sky drop into 9th, 35 points behind fan favorite Red Number 3.
11th in the penultimate race lost Summer Sky two more spots and dropped them into 11th. A bronze medal in the final race saw Summer Sky jump 6 spots up to 5th in the final standings. They finished behind Black Knight and in front of Quicksilver.
2019
In Marble Rally 2019 Summer Sky was automatically qualified for the A-League due to coming 5th in 2018, and they won the practice race.
Summer Sky returned as one of the favorites after finishing fifth in 2018. They started off strong with 10 points in the first race of the season. Despite starting up in the front row in Race 2, they fell back to nineteenth. In Race 3 and 4, they finished 15th, only gaining 12 points from the entire first half of the season. They were sitting in 18th in the points standings and were tied with Marbly McMarbleface, and were 31 points behind points leader Blizzard Blaster and were 7 points ahead of the last place marble in the standings, H2 Blue.
Summer Sky finished 9th in the fifth race, and tenth in the sixth. However, they were eliminated from championship contention after the race, they could only make the overall podium. After a poor seventh race, in which they finished twelfth, they were eliminated from podium contention. In the final race, they won and that was enough to boost them into 12th in the overall standings. They were 41 points behind two-time champion Red Number 3.
2020
Summer Sky was invited to take part in Season 5. In Race 1, Summer Sky started in P2 and had moved up into third place after an initially poor start. However, they were caught out in a corner, along with 5 other marbles, and were unable to finish the race. In Race 2, Summer Sky started in P17 and moved up into the top 10 after another poor start. They would eventually finish in 6th, picking up 10 points and moved into 14th place in the standings. They finished in P7 in Race 3 and jumped up 5 places into 9th.
