The Season 2 Aquamaring Grand Prix was the fourth race of Marbula One Season 2, held on 27 - 28 November 2020.

Qualifying

Summary

The starting line-up for the race.

Q1 started off with Snowstorm and Pulsar, the latter of which claiming the fastest overall time and gaining first place for Team Galactic. Snowstorm, on the other hand, wound up with one of the slowest times, placing 18th and not qualifying for the race. Next up, during Rima and Lemonlime's laps, Cerulean accidentally started their run early. However, due to it not affecting the aforementioned racer's times, it was allowed. Both Orangin and Rapidly scored similar times, both of their teams being below average (22.031s and 22.303s, respectively), placing them in danger of not qualifying.

Another terrible lap by Minty Fresh of the Minty Maniacs secured the O'rangers safety, pushing them up to 14th out of 18th with two more marbles yet to go. Yellup, coming down the Sector two ramp at a strange angle, bounced and fell off of the track with Tumult still racing not far behind them. Yellup, having mild concussion symptoms after the incident, would not be allowed to redo their run and confirmed a DNF for this race, meaning the Savage Speeders would qualify in 16th. An extra safety barrier was added to the right of the ramp shortly before Q2 in order to prevent another fall.

Heading into Q2, Pulsar held pole position, while Red Eye and Bolt were in 2nd and 3rd. Ocean of the Oceanics, the host team of the grand prix, put all superstition to rest and started Q2 in 7th, moving up five spots to finish in 2nd and securing a spot for Q3. Pulsar held on to the lead for practically the entire race, with Billy and Ocean not far behind. Bolt barely held out for 4th place over Cerulean, while Red Eye, Honey, and Mimo, each from one of the top three teams, placed in the bottom three spots.

After a great first lap and a good leap out of the conveyor in lap two of Q3, the Oceanics managed to push Pulsar out of first and fight with Billy for pole position. They did end up finishing in first, giving themselves pole and an extra point, as well as bringing disbelief to the audience of the Aquamaring after doubts of them performing well.

• This Grand Prix marks the fifth appearance of a yellow flag, and the second in which the flag was waved during qualifiers.
• With their 26-point race weekend, Red Eye recorded the second instance of a race winner setting the fastest lap, following Billy at the O'raceway in the season prior.
• With Yellup failing to set a qualifying time, this Grand Prix is the only race where a marble DNF'd the in the first round of qualifying.
  • Yellup's accident left a community meme called "YELLUP IS GONE" which is still widely referred to today.
