The Season 1 O'raceway Grand Prix was the second race of Marbula One Season 1, held on 22-23 February 2020.
Starting from this Grand Prix, the order of turn for the qualifying session is based on the teams' standings as of the previous race, starting from last place. Because of this, Limelime of the Limers was the first to go. Surprisingly, he actually did really well this time, and managed to set an impressive qualifying lap of 31.40 seconds.
Limelime's time was eventually beaten by Wospy of the Midnight Wisps, who set an even better qualifying lap of 30.05 seconds, which was enough to put him in the pole position. Rezzy of the Raspberry Racers also managed to beat Limelime's time with a qualifying lap of 31.02 seconds.
The same could not be said of Orangin of the O'rangers, who did very poorly in this qualifying session. She set a disappointing qualifying lap of 33.86 seconds. Mary of Team Primary had it even worse. With a dreadful qualifying lap of 35.51, which was a whopping five seconds behind Wospy, Mary had to start from the back of the grid. In fact, both Orangin and Mary would start from the back row.
Smoggy of the Hazers, on the other hand, performed much better, and set a qualifying lap of 30.37 seconds. He joined Wospy in the front row. Pulsar of Team Galactic, who went last in this session, just couldn't match his teammate (and the winner of the previous race), Starry, in regards to performance, and his qualifying lap of 33.31 seconds made him start in twelfth.

Smoggy swiftly took the lead from polesitter Wospy off the line. After the field funneled through the first two turns and the initial split, the top five order was Smoggy, Wospy, Billy, Limelime and Bolt. Coming through the second split with a large field spread, Billy fell to eighth, Limelime to twelfth and Bolt to fourteenth. This allowed Rezzy, Rapidly and Anarchy to move up into the top five. Orangin, representing the host team, was already up to seventh after starting next-to-last, trailing Yellup. Coming through the sand section, Rezzy and Anarchy were nudged into the wall pretty hard, slowing them down severely. Billy picked a great line and shot up to second, demoting Wospy to third; with Rapidly still fourth and Mimo up to fifth position. Just seconds later, Rezzy grabbed fifth. On the frontstretch, Rapidly blasted past Wospy to move into third and that's how they ended lap 1.
Snowflake and Rojo Dos had major problems in climbing up the conveyor belt, bouncing off the bottom of it several times and falling a solid several seconds behind everybody else. Early on lap 2, the top four raced off from Rezzy who in turn had Anarchy, Orangin and Mimo stacked up directly behind her. Rezzy pulled away from these pursuers in the sand section, while Bolt was able to recover to seventh by this point. Billy was very fast on the straight and chased down Smoggy, with the two pulling away from Rapidly and Wospy in the process. No overtake came and that's how the leaders ended lap 2. Bolt moved ahead of Anarchy to grab sixth, while Limeline recovered to eighth and Orangin dropped to tenth.
Rapidly had a great launch off the conveyor belt to immediately catch the draft from Smoggy and Billy, leaving the polesitter pretty much alone and safe in fourth, well ahead of a large group of marbles headed by Rezzy. At the end of the sand section, Billy was finally able to make his long-anticipated move to take the lead away from Smoggy as the leading duo managed to drop off Rapidly once again. Rapidly once again had superior speed on the frontstretch and grabbed second from Smoggy and that's how they ended lap 3.
Coming up the conveyor belt, fourth-placed Wospy fell off it and rolled down, bumping into Anarchy (who already had a pretty bad third lap falling from 7th to 10th, but managed to stay on the belt) and further crashing into Rojo Dos at the bottom. Wospy then rolled a short distance backwards on the track and ground to a halt. A yellow flag was issued in response, and the safety marble was deployed in order to help Wospy. Unfortunately, the safety marble missed Wospy, and he remained stuck. Meanwhile, amidst the confusion, Billy was able to extend his lead, while Rezzy and Bolt moved up into fourth and fifth respectively, and Hive out of nowhere was running sixth. On the frontstretch, Rapidly spotted Wospy's trouble and slowed down severely to help him out. Smoggy, Rezzy and Bolt all took advantage of this to overtake him. Rapidly bumped Wospy and got him going again, at the cost of sending himself into the wall, allowing Limelime and Hive to pass him as well. Rapidly fell from second to seventh within a lap, while the polesitter ended up a lap behind the field. That's how they ended lap 4.
Billy had a lead of 3.5 seconds over Smoggy as they both entered lap 5, and looked to continue his dominant trend by pulling away. Rapidly re-passed Hive and Limelime in the first two turns to move back into the top five. Coming through the sand section, Rezzy opportunistically grabbed second from Smoggy and Rapidly advanced past Bolt into fourth place. Smoggy, however, was able to retake second nearly instantly. Rapidly looked to make a pass on Rezzy, ending up just three-hundredths of a second behind her as they crossed the timing line. Snowflake was making a remarkable recovery after falling to last with her early accident, breaking into the top 10. Fourteenth-placed Mary had troubles on the belt this time, falling even further behind and leaving her vulnerable to Rojo Dos. That's how they ended lap 5.
In the second split, Rapidly was finally able to blast past Rezzy as the field bunched up behind them, while Billy continued to run off into the sunset with no threats. At the end of the sand section, Rapidly was able to grab second from Smoggy and Bolt was able to grab fourth from Rezzy. Limelime managed to lap Wospy, using him as a buffer to defend his sixth position from Hive. Quite incredibly, Snowflake was up to eighth, but dropped back behind Yellup somewhere later on the lap. Orangin was running down in twelfth. That's how they ended lap 6.
Rapidly was able to cut Billy's lead down to 2.2 seconds at the beginning of the lap and looked to give chase to the leader. Smoggy was in close attendance in third. Bolt was well behind in fourth, and Limelime managed to jump ahead of Rezzy and take fifth. Hive had troubles somewhere on the lap, dropping from seventh to tenth. Snowflake was able to move into seventh ahead of Yellup at the exit of the sand section, and Anarchy grabbed the occasion to pass Yellup as well. Billy's lead was up by two tenths at the timing line, and that's how they ended lap 7.
Limelime managed to move into fourth at the expense of Bolt, and Rezzy's descent continued when the remarkable Snowflake wrestled sixth away from her. After passing Bolt, Limeline found himself in a land of his own, separated from the fights behind him by the lapped Wospy. Coming through the sand section, Snowflake continued the recovery by blasting past Bolt into fifth position. Rezzy continued to fade dramatically, dropping into ninth behind Hive and Yellup, ending lap 8 in that position.
Rapidly cut down Billy's lead to just 1.5 seconds at the beginning of the final lap as both marbles looked to claim their teams' first Marbula One victory. Rapidly just about managed to cover off a lunge from Smoggy at the end of the sand section, costing both of them momentum and ending their chances of challenging Billy. Unchallenged, Billy took the victory ahead of Rapidly, Smoggy and Limelime. Bolt was able to retake fifth from Snowflake on the final lap. Yellup and Rezzy both managed to move past Hive, finishing seventh through ninth. The final point scorer was Anarchy, having moved up from twelfth to tenth on that final lap. Wospy finished the race in dead last, around two seconds after Smoggy finished the race, and remained one lap behind the field, which was surprising because of his pole position.
