The sixth race of the 2018 Sand Marble Rally was hosted in the 'Doornse Gat'. The conditions of the weather were sunny, with the temperature being 12 degrees Celsius and the sand in good condition. This race formerly held the record for the biggest margin of victory in the Sand Marble Rally, with Red Number 3 winning by a spectacular 4.98 seconds.
After strong 2nd place finishes and a disappointing 13th result last race, Red Number 3 was hungry for his 2018 win. Starting from the front row, Red Number 3 exploded with a start so fast the camera had trouble catching up to him. He took the lead and kept his pace consistently throughout the race to stretch his lead even more, while the battle for 2nd grew intensely. Slimer had a strong start but a poor corner entry caused him to slowly drop out of contention for what would be his first podium of the 2018 season. With a DNF from midfield runner Comet, the top marbles that were gambling for the silver medal were Black Knight and Phoenix. Black Knight took the runners up position comfortably albeit it was overshadowed by an even more comfortable Red Number 3. This victory overtook his previous year's record for biggest winning margin and also propelled him to the top of the standings.
