The fifth race of the 2017 Sand Marble Rally was held in Klimduin Brechtdorp. The track had a fast lay-out.

Report

The race was won by Quicksilver after getting past Dragon's Egg and Nemo at the end in a hectic final and holding Nemo of with 0.01 seconds, which is a Sand Marble Rally record. El Capitan came in third, ahead of Slimer. Dragon's Egg dropped to fifth, Fantasy finished sixth, Black Knight seventh, Deep Ocean eight, Comet ninth and Wisp of Darkness tenth. Pollo Loco came in eleventh ahead of Glassy, Summer Sky, championship leader Red Number 3 and Crazy Cat's Eye. Blizzard Blaster was the last one to finish, but finishing sixteenth left them without a point. Lollipop and H2 Blue failed to reach the finish line and so did Ghost Plasma for the fourth time in a row. Big Pearl also didn't finish after going straight of the track at the beginning.
