The seventh race of the Sand Marble Rally 2016 was held at Doornse Gat on the 19th September 2016. 20 marbles participated in the race.

Report

After eliminating 13 marbles, 20 were left in the competition. Straight out of the gates, the racers entered a split, where Slimer took a quick lead on the high line, and Big Pearl took a lead on the low line. Coming out of the split, Slimer held the lead over Rastafarian in second and Dragon's Egg in third, all three of whom had taken the high line. Following close behind in fourth was Big Pearl. Through a few turns, Slimer grew their lead over the next racers, coming into a second split first.

Slimer, Dragon's Egg, and Big Pearl took the faster, lower line, while Rastafarian took the higher line, and lost out on the top five. Big Pearl was able to pass Dragon's Egg in the split, slotting into second place. After the split, the racers entered a set of slalom curves, which was followed by a wide boulevard with obstacles such as rocks and sticks. All of the top three managed to hold on to their positions, as they headed into a set of helices. Inside the helices, Big Pearl lunged into first place, while Dragon's Egg dropped a spot to Super Turtle.

Through a set of turns, Slimer managed to overtake Big Pearl to come into the lead. As the racers entered a split, all of the top four took the low line. The top two kept their spots, but Pollo Loco took advantage of an opening between Super Turtle and Dragon's Egg, taking first. Onto the final straight, Super Turtle crept ahead of Pollo Loco momentarily, but a bump off the wall at the last second caused them to lose third place to Pollo Loco. Meanwhile, the top two kept their spots, cruising along to the finish.

Slimer took first place, taking their first win in the sand marble rally. Close behind was Big Pearl, managing to take second. Pollo Loco barely beat out Super Turtle for fourth. The championship leader, Ghost Plasma, was able to take fifth over their closest championship contender, Dragon's Egg. Starman came seventh, ahead of Summer Sky and Rastafarian, letting Glassy round out the top ten. There was only one DNF this race, which belonged to Silver Bolt.
