Sand Marble Rally 2016 was the inaugural season of the Sand Marble Rally, with only a few one-off sand marble rally events occurring before the start of the 2016 season. The first race was aired on June 18th, 2016.
The races were located at Doornse Gat. They had many obstacles such as Weaves/Braids, Ribbons/Slaloms, Jumps, Bridges, Crosses, and many more.
Qualification[]
Prior to the start of the season, there was a qualification race which determined the starting positions for Race 1 of the 2016 Season. The race saw Blue Smoke victorious, with H2 Blue and El Capitan following close behind.
Format[]
The season consisted of 12 races, where points were awarded based on the finishing position of each marble.
After the first six races, the cumulative total scores were used to determine the best 20 marbles over the first half of the season, and only these 20 marbles competed in the later half of the season. After 12 races, the marble with the highest overall points tally was crowned the Sand Marble Rally Champion for 2016.

Trivia[]
- Sand Marble Rally 2016, to this date, has the longest track ever by time in Race 12 with a winning time of 3:32.51.
- Prior to the start of Sand Marble Rally 2016, there were the Sand Marble Rally 500-Foot Race and Extra Race, featuring 3 marbles that have otherwise not appeared in the Marble Rally, namely Angry Amber, Supernova and Souless Wonder. These two races are their only appearances to date.
- They were replaced by Blue Smoke, Fantasy and Silver Bolt prior to the start of the season.
