Red Eye is the captain of the Crazy Cat's Eyes. Along with the other team members, they come from the city of Felynia and participated in the 2015 Knikkegen Marble League before competing in the Marble League. They are currently the most successful Marbula One racers in history, winning 3 races and scoring 105 points in one season.
Widely regarded as the most successful racer in Marbula One history, Red Eye is best known for their dominating performances in Marbula One Season 2 where they managed to win three Grands Prix and a silver in just six Grands Prix, earning a grand total of 105 points, clinching the individual championship and the team championship before the final Grand Prix. They're also the only racer to achieve a Grand Slam, after winning the Season 2 Savage Speedway Grand Prix starting from pole position, leading every lap, and setting the fastest lap of the race. Their success continues as they win the individual championship back-to-back in Marbula One Season 3 with 108 points, including a gold, three silvers and three pole positions. Although they failed to defend the Marbula One Season 4 individual championship, they were able to finish in 3rd place, clinching four medals in the process. Red Eye is currently the highest scoring racer in Marbula One history with 297 points, as well as the most successful racer in Marbula One by medals, winning 12 medals as of the end of Marbula One Season 4.
Originally an average competitor during their debut in Marble League 2018, Red Eye had since become one of the best marbles in the Marble League after becoming the captain of the team, clinching four medals and a total of 112 points in just four Marble Leagues. Their solid performances in both Marble League 2020 and Marble League 2021 led the team to finish fifth in both tournaments. (Someone, please add information about them since the Marbula One Season 3)
History[]
Pre-Marble League[]
Red Eye and their team came from the city of Felynia, a city sandwiched between two rivers and it's known for it's prestige in film and entertainment. Their career began when they were selected from their respective district to represent Felynia in sport. Their team started their careers at the 2015 Knikkegen Marble League, in which they finished 11th. In Late 2017, the Crazy Cat's Eyes were accepted into the 2018 Marble League, and as a result, the team headed to the Arctic Circuit in Hailfern to compete.
2018[]
The Crazy Cat's Eyes were invited to take part in the Marble League 2018 Qualifiers. Seeded in Group A, the team debuted with a third-place finish in Curling, where Blue Eye stopped right on the button, showcasing the team's accuracy. Another third-place finish in the 5 Meter Ice Dash, as well as fifth-place finishes in the other two events, put the team in the exact qualifying threshold for Marble League 2018 in 4th of their group.
The team started Marble League 2018 with an eleventh-place finish in the 5 Meter Ice Dash. It was followed by a bronze in the Ski Jump, putting them into fifth overall. Unfortunately, the team faltered in the Halfpipe, finishing in fifteenth, falling to tenth overall. The team made amendments by getting three sixth-place finishes in the next three events, placing them in eighth overall at the halfway mark. From this point on, the team began to lose their momentum. They finished bottom half in five out of the remaining six events and the gold in Biathlon was only enough for them to finish in tenth at the end of the standings.
The team's poor finishes continued into the offseason. Red Eye failed to finish in the 100 Meter Water Race, and the team came last in the Amazing Maze Marble Race. The team started to doubt their performances, especially because of their poor second half in Marble League 2018. Also during the offseason, the team visited the Turtle Sliders, who took them boating around nearby islands, a stark contrast to their desert home, as well as showing them their facilities and training together. This led to a strong friendship between the teams, with the Sliders visiting the Cat's Eyes in Felynia in later years.
2019[]
In the first event in the Marble League 2019 Qualifiers, the Funnel Race. Green Eye managed to win the event, well ahead of the rest of the field. Undaunted by their last place finish in the next event, Block Pushing, the team proceeded to perform well in the next two events, qualifying for Marble League 2019 in third overall.
The team got off to a slow start in Marble League 2019, placing in 13th after two events. The team turned their fortunes around by medaling in the next three events, including one gold and two bronzes. This run of medals lifted the team into fourth overall. The team continued the with six bottom half finishes in the next seven events, which was somehow enough to keep them hovering around fifth and sixth overall. Then came the Elimination Race where Red Eye managed to get a bronze. Unfortunately, the team started to lose sight of the competition. Red Eye was already tired from their performance in the previous event, causing them to finish last in Surfing. This was followed by two bottom three finishes in the final two events. The Crazy Cat's Eyes ended Marble League 2019 in 11th overall, which was a huge disappointment for the team.
During the off-season, The Turtle Sliders visited Felynia and the two teams trained together. The team were rarely seen at their training sessions during the offseason. Rumors started to spread that they had gone out to the Cat's Dunes to train.
2020[]
Marble League 2020[]
During the offseason, Felynia's High Council, led by Cleocatra, invested heavily in the team and appointed a new manager, Bullseye. The team returned in the Marble League 2020 Qualifiers. The team finished first in Balancing with a score of 407 cm. Cyan Eye finished ninth in Funnel Endurance, which kept the team in first overall. In the next two events the team got a sixteenth and a third respectively, making the team finish in second overall, qualifying them for Marble League 2020.
The team had a successful start to Marble League 2020, getting seven top eight finishes in a row, including one gold and one silver. They also broke the Marble League Record in the 5 Meter Hurdles. This put them in second overall just before the halfway point. Unfortunately, the second half of the competition did not go well again. The slump began with three mid-pack finishes. Despite this, the team managed to stay in third overall. A brief glimmer of hope came with a bronze medal for Blue Eye and Red Eye in the Black Hole Funnel. However, they crashed back down with four bottom half finishes, including a last place finish in the Relay Run, putting them in fifth with one event to go. This led the High Council to threaten reduced funding for the team's bids to host Marble League 2021 and Marbula One Season 2 if they weren't going to podium.
The team sent Red Eye, the captain, for the final event, the Marble Marathon. In the Placement Race, Red Eye got stuck on the course and finished last. But after some discussions between the coaches and the JMRC, it was deemed that Red Eye's stoppage was not their fault and the teams unanimously agreed to let them start in P5 for the main race. Red Eye had a good race and finished third in the end, the team's fourth medal, making the team finish in fifth overall, their best Marble League finish so far. After the Closing Ceremony, they were revealed as the hosts of Marble League 2021, auto-qualifying them for the competition.
The High Council had a large budget for Marble League 2021 and immediately got to work, tearing down Felynia's athletic fields and building the Felynia Coliseum, with a capacity of nearly 20,000. This meant the Crazy Cat's Eyes had business deals and stadium construction to manage as well as training. After Marble League 2020, the Cat's Eyes along with other marbles went to encourage their friends the Turtle Sliders who had another disappointing time in Marble League Showdown 2020. They also allowed them to again visit Felynia to train with them.
Marbula One Season 2[]
In October 2020, it was announced that the team had been invited to take part in Marbula One Season 2, and they sent out Red Eye "Crimson Cat" and Yellow Eye "Flashy Feline" for the tournament. With no suitable circuit in Felynia, Bullseye struck a deal with the manager of the Limers, Blimey, to rent out their old track in Sotsevsa, the Lime Lap, to train on.
The Crazy Cat's Eyes got off to a fantastic start, as Yellow Eye earned a gold medal on their Marbula One debut. The team continued to impress as Red Eye managed to win a silver medal in the O'raceway GP. They were followed by a bronze for Yellow Eye and a gold for Red Eye in the Honeydome GP and Aquamaring GP respectively. After four Grands Prix, the team were sitting at the top of the standings with 88 points, with a 30-point-lead over Team Momo in second place. Both Yellow Eye and Red Eye began to slow their pace as they only managed a seventh and eighth in the next two Grands Prix, making their lead shrink to 24 points at the halfway point of the competition. Red Eye and Yellow Eye were also first and second in the Individual Standings. Despite their lead, the team kept up their training routine, continuing to practice in Sotsevsa and at other locations they were invited to.
2021[]
Marble League Winter Special[]
The Crazy Cat's Eyes were invited to participate in the Marble League Winter Special. Blue Eye managed to win the first event and set a new Marble League Record. Unfortunately, things turned downwards after that as the team failed to place higher than eighth in the remaining events, including a last place finish in the final event, Ice Hockey. Despite a promising start, the Crazy Cat's Eyes could only manage an 11th place finish overall.
Marbula One Season 2[]
After the Winter Special, the second half of Marbula One Season 2 started off with two back-to-back wins, extending the team's lead to 71 points. Red Eye and Yellow Eye also became the two racers to win two Grands Prix in one season. The back-to-back golds were followed by two 13th place finishes, causing their lead to shrink to 51 points. At the Savage Speedway GP, Red Eye won by more than eight seconds ahead, earning the first perfect 27 point weekend of Marbula One. As a result, the team clinched the Marbula One Teams' Championship with one race to go, with Red Eye clinching the Individual Championship as well. Felynia's streets abounded with celebrations and fireworks. The Crazy Cat's Eyes would end the season in a more humbling way, as Yellow Eye finished tenth at the Midnight Bay GP, taking them to third in the Individual Standings behind Speedy of the Savage Speeders. The team won with a point total of 183 points in 12 races, finishing the season with the largest point gap between first and second, being 61 points ahead of the Savage Speeders in second.
Eight months after leaving Felynia for Sotsevsa, the pair returned to their home city to begin practicing at the Felynia Coliseum. When they arrived thousands of Cat's Eyes marbles formed a rainbow, with streamers and ribbons filling the air with a banner reading "Don't Stop Fe-lieving".
Marble League 2021[]
The same week that all 2021 Marble League teams were in Felynia for the group draw, the High Council organized the Marble League 2021 Practice Race to exhibit the natural beauty and wildlife of the city. Red Eye was sent to participate and finished fifth. The Solar Flares arrived early to the city and went sightseeing. When they returned, Flare and Blaze started having a sword fight with souvenir scepters they had bought. Red Eye saw them dueling and this gave them the idea for a Jousting event.
The draw happened at the same time as the grand opening of the new stadium. A parade was held on the streets of Felynia featuring the Crazy Cat's Eyes as well as all 20 competitors from Marble Rally Season 5. A ceremony took place inside the stadium in which the team was presented with a Key to the City and two roads were renamed Red Eye Way and Yellow Eye Road. All 28 teams were then welcomed onto the stage and each team was sorted into Group A or B. The Cat's Eyes again trained with the Turtle Sliders to help both teams prepare for Marble League 2021.
The team had a poor start to the Friendly Round with a last place finish in the Wave. However, they managed to turn things around by winning the next two events and finishing second in the final event, winning the Friendly Round. Despite this, they once again started poorly as they finished 14th in the first two events, including Balancing where the team podiumed in in 2019. This poor start dropped the team to last place overall for the first time in the team's history.
However, the team quickly turned things around in the 5 Meter Sprint when Green Eye won gold and broke the Marble League Record twice, taking the team into ninth overall. The Crazy Cat's Eyes placed mid-pack in the next four events, taking the team into eighth just before the halfway point of the tournament. In Block Pushing saw another disappointing performance from the team as they only settled in fifteenth, just in front of the Hazers. Things went even worse for the team in Triathlon as Blue Eye got disqualified in the event after bumping into Rojo Tres during the sand section, causing the latter to getting stuck on the track. As a result the team dropped to 13th.
The team then went on a streak of finishing top nine in the next five events, including a silver by Red Eye in the Elimination Race and a gold by Blue Eye in the Sand Rally. This jumped the team to 3rd in the standings, with fourteen points behind the Raspberry Racers. To everyone's surprise, the team got beaten by the Limers with a humiliating score of 4-0, placing dead last in Football, thus dropping into 7th with one event to go. The team subbed Red Eye to participate in the Marblocross. Red Eye wasn't able to replicate their dominant performances in Marbula One Season 2 and finished fifth in this event, and the team finished in a respectable fifth in the standings as a result.
2022[]
Marbula One Season 3[]
Red Eye entered the third season of Marbula One as the previous season's champion, and they did not disappoint the fans. At Sleet Street GP, Red Eye qualified 8th in Q1, rising up to 4th in Q2 thanks to their beautiful entry on the Ice Chute. They then had a great battle with Smoggy for the lead, but fell at the last few laps and finished in second with a ten-second gap between them. At O'raceway GP, Red Eye managed to start in P2 and held in the top 4 for the majority of the race, before taking advantage of Royal's and Glimmer's mistake and finishing in second. They was able to grab pole position at Mellow Meadows GP, repeated the waiting strategy from the last race and won after overtaking Clutter on the very last lap. This lifted both themselves and the team to first place in both the individual standings and the team standings and they remain there at the halfway point of the season.
The second half didn't go as well for either Red Eye or the team. They clawed their second pole at Stardust Accelerator GP, but a bump to the split made them fall all the way down to 17th in just one opening lap. Despite having a terrible start, they slowly climbed back lap by lap and get back to 8th. A mediocre 12th place finish at Short Circuit GP, combined with two bottom-five finishes of Yellow Eye made the Crazy Cat's Eyes lose the lead to the O'rangers with an 11-point lead heading to the team's home track, the Mirage Meowtain GP. All hopes and pressure were put on Red Eye to secure the team's championship, and they responded with a pole position, but with Clementin starting on P2 as well, things weren't looking much better. In the race, Red Eye never fell outside of the top four, and there was a brief moment when Red Eye was able to secure the team's championship, but a bad exit on the conveyor belt shattered their dream of repeating the title, as Royal passed them at the very last lap. With Clementin finished 3rd, Red Eye couldn't retake the lead on the team standing, but a silver medal was enough to win the individual title. The Crazy Cat's Eyes ended the season in 2nd, with Red Eye successfully defending their individual title with 3 poles, 3 silver medals and 1 gold medal.
