Nemo is a competitor in the Marble Rally. They are an orange marble with a black swirl and a green swirl. Nemo is often able to get in the front of the pack but not able to keep on as the race go on, therefore only able to get two podium finishes through their four year career and often not being able to get enough points to get in the top half of the season.

History

Pre-Marble Rally

Nemo is originally from Aslipi. Before becoming a racer, Nemo was a celebrity that worked on a crime documentary produced by the Non-Descript Entertainment Company. They became interested in racing after seeing a viral video about Jelle's Marble Runs in 2014. They started to train and appeared in the Sand Marble Rally 750-Foot Race and applied to be in Sand Marble Rally 2017.

2017

Nemo made their debut in the Sand Marble Rally attempting to qualify for the Sand Marble Rally 2017. They ran in Heat 1 and finished 3rd, moving on to the main tournament. In Race 1, Nemo ran in the top 5 early after starting 4th, but got stuck on a nail on the course. Big Pearl and they then soared off the track just a couple of turns later and Nemo finished last. Race 2 saw a better outing for Nemo. Despite starting 11th, they avoided the many collisions and finished 5th, moving them into a tie with Deep Ocean for 11th overall. They finished 5th again in Race 3, moving them up to 10th.

Race 4 saw Nemo have trouble getting up to speed, they started 9th but fell back quickly, and finished 14th. They dropped to 12th in points. Nemo would be at the front of the pack yet again in Race 5, leading for a while, but would lose to Quicksilver in a chaotic finish. This was Nemo's first podium finish. They vaulted 5 spots to 7th. Race 6 saw a horrendous day for the Race 5 runner-up when they DNFd the race.

Nemo struggled to another 14th place in Race 7, but finished 4th in Race 8. They were 10th in points at this stage. Race 9 was another very abrupt one for Nemo. They ran mid-pack, but Comet and they slammed into a spinner very early in the course which gave Nemo their 3rd DNF. Their inexperience on the same course caused another early race crash in Race 10, giving them their 4th DNF of the year.

Nemo finally had a breath of fresh air in Race 11 when they started and finished 7th. They followed up with a 6th place in the penultimate race of the year in Race 12. They ended off the year with a 12th place finish in the finale and finished 14th overall.

2018

Nemo was one of a many of returnees to appear in the Qualifiers for Sand Marble Rally 2018.. They qualified 4th in their heat race, and spent the majority of the heat running 3rd. They were passed near the end by Black Knight. Nemo barely held off H2 Blue to take the last transfer position in the heat. Despite finishing 4th, they had the 4th fastest overall time out of the 16 that qualified on speed.

For the 2018 season, Nemo's performance dropped a little from their previous year. Races 5 and 6 were highlights finishing in the top 5, but most of their performances were either in the middle of the field or the back of the pack. They finished 15th in the standings.

2019

Due to their 15th place finish the previous year, Nemo was entered into the Wildcard Race. Their 7th place finish meant they were relegated to the Marble Rally 2019 Showdown. Nemo mainly finished in the middle of the pack with one finish in the top five. They finished the season in 8th overall, enough to be entered into a Race-off to get into Marble Rally Season 5

2020

After the Qualifiers for Marble Rally Season 5 were cancelled, Nemo was invited to take part in Marble Rally Season 5. Their season was disappointing, failing to score in half of the twelve races, and often fell away despite fast starts in several rounds. However, good split decisions and tactical rolling resulted in a second place in Round 5, their first podium since Round five of 2017 (previously their only podium). They finished the season a deflating 18th place, barely scoring more points than in 2018, with four fewer races.

Racer Analysis

Nemo was hyped up as a potential champion before their debut in 2017, and their early performances did show potential, with a podium finish in Round five, and a near miss in Round one (ruined by a clumsy DNF while running in the top three and leading earlier on). However, their consistency has always been poor, and they often struggle to finish in a points-paying position, if they are able to finish at all. They are a solid defender, however, and their better starts generally are where their best results come from. When they start poorly however, they struggle to recover. They also appear to be better suited to higher speed tracks and racing, and often have very fast starts that fall away at around the halfway stage on longer tracks, while on the shorter tracks, or on tracks where it is harder to pass on, they are often able to finish well. Their performances have also appeared to deteriorate, with their performance gradually declining over their three seasons (and one B-League). They are quite good with split paths generally, often picking the faster lines to gain themselves ground they usually can't.

In general, Nemo is a talented racer, but a lack of consistency and poor races when in the pack, as well as their tendency to burn out too quickly, have resulted in them being one of the lower rated marbles in the Marble Rally.

• Their name is probably based on the fish of the same name from Finding Nemo and Finding Dory but Nemo from Finding Nemo and Finding Dory has white over the black but Nemo from the Marble Rally doesn't have any white.
