In the Water Race, 2 heats of 8 marbles race down a track with a shallow water current. The marbles are only partially submerged. The first 4 marbles to finish advance to the final round, where the 1st marble across the line wins.

Notes
*The Kobalts and Team Momo were both ranked 15th as they got stuck in the exact same spot. They were each awarded a consolation point as this was caused by a track defect. This was not mentioned in the video for part 1, with the consolation points first appearing in the overall results table after Event 5. The confirmation of the awarding of consolation points was later made by a member of the JMA.
