The first event of Marble League Showdown 2022 was held on the 30th November 2022, featuring the first event, the Swing Wave.

In the Swing Wave, marble teams roll down a wave-shaped track, with two teams in each heat. There are 10 waves numbered from 1 to 10, with a red catch tray at the very end. Unlike the Hubelino Tournament variation, there is no 12-point strip, and there is a single lane in the track.

A marble scores points equivalent to the numbering of the wave it stops in, with the following exceptions:

1. Falling into the red catch tray scores 0 points.
2. Leaving the waves results in the individual marble being disqualified. This results in the marble scoring 0 points for the heat, but does not automatically drop the team's event points to 0.
3. If a marble is stuck at the peak between 2 waves, they will score the amount equal to the greater amount. For instance, a marble stuck between troughs 4 & 5 will score 5 points.

A team's score in the event is their best result after two heats. The team with the highest score wins. Ties are broken by secondary heats, then most 10-point scores.
