The Opening Ceremony opened with a Mint Mobile marble yodeling. Three marbles playing alphorns and an orchestra began playing as Jelle and Dion entered on a floating iceberg carrying the Marble League Trophy. They were followed by the JMA and Greg Woods.
Each team got onto their icebergs. The hosts, the Gliding Glaciers, then paraded through the stadium on their iceberg, followed by the joint-hosts, the Minty Maniacs, and the sponsor, Mint Mobile. They were followed by the rest of the qualified teams and their coaches.
Jelle, Rollan Rollnolds and a member of the Gliding Glaciers carried a torch up the stairs, carrying the Marble League torch to the top of the stadium where the flame was lit, signifying the official start to Marble League 2024.
The Ice Dash is a racing event similar to the 5 Meter Sprint, the difference being the course is made of smooth plastic with no barriers between the marbles, causing an effect similar to slipping on ice. One marble from each team takes part in a heat consisting of four marbles. The marble with the fastest time wins.
