The qualifiers for Marble League 2022 were held on 21 October 2022. For the second consecutive year, 24 teams entered the qualifiers, competing for 12 spots in the main tournament alongside the four auto-qualified teams from Marble League 2021.
Mellow Yellow, the Raspberry Racers, Gliding Glaciers, and Green Ducks did not participate in the Qualifiers as they had auto-qualified. They instead competed in the Friendly Round.
The Wolfpack, Black Jacks, Purple Rockets, and Team Plasma were ineligible to participate in the Qualifiers as they were the expansion teams of the Marble League, set to participate in the Showdown. But since they were expansion teams, they also competed in their own Friendly Round.
The qualifier format from the 2021 Qualifiers was retained for this season; teams were split into groups of 12, with the six highest ranked teams in each group after four events advancing to the main tournament.

All 24 teams eligible to qualify for Marble League 2022 were randomly placed into 1 of 2 groups, Group A and Group B. The groups were determined by a random draw held on 15 October 2022, similar to the format used in the Marble League 2018 Qualifiers.
Draw Procedure[]
The 24 teams were split into 12 heats of two teams each, based on the previous year's performances.
The two teams of each heat were sent down into a green MaBoRun funnel, as previously used in the Funnel Endurance events in Marble League 2020 and Marble League 2021. The first team to exit the funnel was assigned to Group A while the other team was assigned to Group B.

Event 1: Climbing[]
The first event of the Marble League 2022 Qualifiers was held on the 21st October 2022, featuring the first event, Climbing.

In Climbing, the athlete pairs compete to roll as far as possible after colliding. Similar to Newton's Cradle (albeit teammates make contact with each other directly), the first marble (striker) of the teams accelerates from the starting ramp and sends an impulse into the second marble (skipper) to launch them as far up the slope they can. Distance is calculated by taking the measurement at the center of the skipper at the apex of its movement. Each team is given 2 runs in separate lanes, and their score is the greater of their 2 runs. The team with the highest score wins. Ties are broken by secondary distance.

The inaugural appearance of the Hurdles event in the Marble League Qualifiers utilized the rendition from 2021, which sees marbles sprinting down a 5 meter track, on which rest seven small hurdles they must jump over. Ramps are placed in front of the hurdles to assist them in doing so. The hurdles are not fixed to the ground, and they are freestanding. The fastest time across the line wins.

Event 3: Balancing[]
The third event of the Marble League 2022 Qualifiers was held on the 21st October 2022, featuring the third event, Balancing.

In Balancing, teams of four marbles must roll down a track with no walls on it, referred to as a balance beam. To guide the marbles onto the beam, there is a triangle piece that narrows as it approaches the balance beam.
If a marble falls off the track, its distance from the start (in centimeters) will be tallied and counted towards the team's final score. Any marble who reaches the green zone at the end of the track earns the maximum individual score of 130, which is also added toward the team's final score. A marble must land in the green zone to score 130; any marble that reaches the end of the beam but does not land in the green zone will only score 120. The team with the highest collective score wins. Ties are broken by furthest individual distances.

- There were some errors in the video:
- In Event 1, the Kobalts were mistakenly ranked behind the Chocolatiers despite getting a higher score. In Group B, the Jungle Jumpers were mistakenly labelled as the Oceanics in the Heat 2 results.
- In Event 2, the time difference for the Shining Swarm and the Turtle Sliders in Group A and the Oceanics in Group B was incorrect.
- In Event 3, the distance of one of the Bumblebees marbles in the final table was incorrect.
- In Event 4, the individual marble competitors were not shown. They were later revealed by a member of the JMA.
- In both groups, 2 teams placed last in exactly 2 events.
- In all the qualifiers that the Crazy Cat's Eyes have participated in, this was the first and only edition where they didn't podium in the first event.
