The first event of Marble League 2022 was held on the 2nd November 2022, not only featuring the first event, Climbing, but also the Opening Ceremony.
Opening Ceremony[]

The Opening Ceremony started with the entrance of Jelle and Dion carrying the Marble League Trophy. They were followed by Skipper, the mascot, and the JMA.
The hosts, the Green Ducks, then entered carrying with them the Marble League torch. They were followed by the rest of the qualified teams led by their coaches.
Then the Green Ducks took the Marble League torch to the base of the flame while being watched by the rest of the qualified teams. They were followed by Jelle and Dion carrying the Trophy, as well as Skipper and the JMA. The Green Ducks ascended the stairs to the Marble League flame where the flame was lit, signifying the official start to Marble League 2022.

In Climbing, the athlete pairs compete to roll as far as possible after colliding. The first marble (striker) of the teams accelerates from the starting ramp and sends an impulse into the second marble (skipper) to launch them as far up the slope they can. The team whose skipper travels the furthest up the ramp wins. Distance is calculated by taking the measurement at the center of the skipper at the apex of its movement. The best of two runs is selected as their result. Ties are broken by secondary distance.
