The first event of Marble League 2016 was held on the 5th of August 2016, not only featuring the first event: Balancing, but also the Opening Ceremony.

Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony featured each of the sixteen teams coming out one by one before lining up in a grid.

Event

Each team of four marbles roll down a 5 cm wide track without walls. When a marble falls off the track, its distance from the start of the track is the number of points it receives. If a marble reaches the end of the track, it earns 150 points. Each marble's point score is added to give a final team score. The team with the most points wins.

Standings After Event (if current points system was used)

Note: Disqualifications are awarded 0 points. Any teams that were given consolation points were given two consolation points. In Event 2, the Snowballs were awarded 14 points, two for their 4th place finish and two consolation points. There are disagreements about numbers of points for disqualifications and consolation points and the Snowballs' Event 2 finish. This is one way of converting the ML16 results which was chosen after discussions between community members, there are other valid methods.

Trivia

• The Rojo Rollers set a new Marble League record with a score of 347, beating the previous record of 332.
• This rendition of Balancing is the only occurrence that lists team members for each individual result.
