The first event of MarbleLympics 2016 was held on the 5th of August 2016, not only featuring the first event: Balancing, but also the Opening Ceremony.
The opening ceremony featured each of the sixteen teams coming out one by one before lining up in a grid.
Each team of four marbles roll down a 5 cm wide track without walls. When a marble falls off the track, its distance from the start of the track is the number of points it receives. If a marble reaches the end of the track, it earns 150 points. Each marble's point score is added to give a final team score. The team with the most points wins.
- The Rojo Rollers set a new MarbleLympics record with a score of 347, beating the previous record of 332.
