Slimer is a dark green marble who competes in the Marble Rally. Slimer competed in the Sand Marble Rally 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and Season 5. Slimer's best championship result came in Season 6 where they finished first. They are originally from Lemono in Europe. They also serve on the advisory board of the Syndesmarble.

History

2016

In Sand Marble Rally 2016, Slimer didn't start too well. They finished eighth in the first race, and they only score 8 further points in the next 4 races. Before the sixth race, the elimination race, Slimer was on the brink of elimination standing in 21st, but a third place finish in the Race 6 moved them up to 13th in the standings with 42 points, 62 points behind the leader Ghost Plasma, avoiding elimination.

Slimer then had a fantastic 2nd half of the season where they won twice and scored 108 points in the second half, more than any other marble. They finished the season in 4th with 150 points, 21 points behind Dragon's Egg in third, 23 points behind runner-up Big Pearl and 44 points behind the first Sand Marble Rally champion Ghost Plasma.

2017

In Sand Marble Rally 2017 Slimer again didn't have a good first half of the season with two DNF's and no podium finishes. A 4th place finish in Race 5 was their best result before the Marble League 2017 break. They were 17th in the standings after Race 6 with 27 points, 44 points behind Quicksilver.

But just the previous year, Slimer made a good comeback in the second half of the season. They had a couple of low points scoring finishes but then they won Races 9 and 11, finished second in Race 12 and third in Race 13 (which had double points). They finished the season with 3 consecutive podium finishes and moved up the standings all the way to third. Slimer was again the marble who had scored the most points in the second half of the season with 107 points. This amazing second half of the season got them 3rd in the standings with 130 points, 5 points behind champion Dragon's Egg and runner-up Red Number 3 and in front of Quicksilver who had led the championship before losing it in the final race with an unlucky DNF.

2018

Slimer was prequalified for Sand Marble Rally 2018 because they finished third in 2017, but they somehow got mixed up in Qualifier 4.

Sand Marble Rally 2018 itself was a bad season for Slimer, despite having a better first half to the season than previous seasons. After Race 3 they were 3rd in the standings, despite still not having a podium finish, 1 point behind leader Quicksilver. In Race 4 they finished only 16th and the next race saw Slimer get a DNF.

In Race 6 Slimer ran in second in the early part of the race, but they finished only seventh. In the following race Slimer finished eighth, moving up to ninth in the standings, 42 points behind leader Red Number 3. In the final race Slimer finished only 15th and dropped 5 places in the championship to finish the season in a disappointing 14th, just 1 place and 2 points clear of going to the 'Wildcard Race'. Slimer scored 48 points, 59 points less than champion Red Number 3.

2019

Slimer finished 14th in 2018, which was the lowest position to "qualify" for the normal qualifiers for Marble Rally 2019. They participated in Qualifier 2 and finished second, which meant they were qualified.

Slimer started the season with three mid-pack results, a 13th, a 10th and an 8th, but made use of a beneficial split taken by just a few marbles to take the lead in Race 4. They lost the lead to El Capitan late on but still took second, their first podium since 2017. The rest of the season was more like their 2018 performance and their best result was an 8th in Race 7. They finished 13th, which was one spot below automatic qualification, meaning that they would have to race for their 2020 spot in the Race Off.

2020

Slimer was meant to compete in the Race-off for Marble Rally Season 5. However, the qualifiers were cancelled and Slimer was invited to take part in the competition.

Their season was very similar to the first two Marble Rally Seasons as they bad first half. Slimer started poorly in the first three races including a DNF in Race 2, they were 18th place after 3 races which was the lowest in their career since 2016. In Race 4 Slimer did very well finishing 2nd launching them into 10th overall, two mediocre races followed including Race 5, where after running in the top 3 early on they would start to fall down to 7th, where they finished. Slimer sat 12th at the halfway point.

But however, Slimer pulled a great second half comeback as they finished top 10 in the final 6 races including two consecutive 3rd places at one point they would end in 3rd place matching their best season from 2017.
