Deep Ocean is a competitor in the Sand Marble Rally. They are a transparent blue marble with light blue accents. Despite having participated in the first three Marble Rally seasons, Deep Ocean has historically performed poorly. In fact, they have barely been able to finish races within the top half, much less a podium finish. Their biggest weaknesses are staying at the front of races all the way through and consistency.

History

2016

Deep Ocean failed to earn even a single point in the first six races of Sand Marble Rally 2016. They were thus eliminated from the season in dead last (33rd). They only visibly ran in the top 20 during the opening stages of Race 6, where they briefly held fourth place before sinking down out of the points to 26th.

2017

Surprisingly though, Deep Ocean did perform really well in the Qualifiers for Sand Marble Rally 2017. They finished second in the third Qualifiers race, almost one-and-an-half seconds behind Summer Sky.

Race 1 saw Deep Ocean score their first points, but then they had a swing between good and bad performance. They also had three consecutive races where they scored no points. They had no podium finishes in this season either, and finished in 16th with 68 points.

2018

Deep Ocean managed to make it into Sand Marble Rally 2018 by finishing second in the second Qualifiers race, behind Big Pearl.

Deep Ocean had a strong start to the season, with their first ever podium finish in the Race 1, where they finished third. They could, however, never again match this level and proceeded to continue the season with a string of poor results. Deep Ocean ended the season in 17th with 41 points.

2019

After another unsuccessful season, Deep Ocean was given a chance to compete in Marble Rally 2019 in the wildcard race. However, Deep Ocean was only able to muster fourth and was placed in the Showdown for 2019.

Deep Ocean had a terrible start to the Showdown, to the point where they were last in the points standings with a measly 6 points as of Race 3. They were thus no longer eligible for automatic promotion to the Marble Rally 2020. However, Race 4 saw Deep Ocean make a comeback by winning the race. This made her jump to seventh in the final standings with a total of 21 points.

Racer Profile and Analysis

Deep Ocean overall is a weak marble but has shown occasional promise, especially in qualifiers and also in a few 2017 and 18 races, but their biggest flaws are consistency and holding positions, both of which badly affected their 2017, 18 and early 19 Showdown. If they can sort out their weaknesses, they will be able to compete for higher positions, which they struggle to get, despite a seemingly relatively large fanbase.
