Crazy Cat's Eye is a marble competing in the Sand Marble Rally. They have a Marble League team inspired by them called the Crazy Cat's Eyes. Like this team, Crazy Cat's Eye is also from Felynia. They train in the Cat's Dunes east of the city.[1]

History

2016

Crazy Cat's Eye had a really bad season during Sand Marble Rally 2016. With two DNFs and only 8 points, Crazy Cat's Eye was eliminated after Race 6 at 30th in the standings.

2017

Crazy Cat's Eye qualified for Sand Marble Rally 2017 by finishing first in their Qualifying Race. Given their awful performance in the last season, Crazy Cat's Eye entered the 2017 season as an underdog, but they showed that they had improved much by finishing first in Race 1.

Despite failing to finish the second race in an incident involving H2 Blue, Slimer, Blizzard Blaster, Ghost Plasma and El Capitan, who blamed Deep Ocean, who caused the six to get stuck on the plinko board mid-race, then they finished eleventh in Race 3, ninth in Race 4, and fifteenth in Race 5. They had a good 4th-place finish in Race 6, and another eleventh in Race 7. They finished 6th in Race 8, and 8th in the ninth race. Crazy Cat's Eye proceeded to keep up with their performance, with a third-place finish in Race 10. Then they finished fifteenth in Race 11, and twelfth in Race 12. Finally, they finished fourteenth in the final race. They ended the season in 8th, signifying that they had indeed improved from the last season.

2018

Crazy Cat's Eye finished in 8th place at Sand Marble Rally 2018 (losing the tiebreaker to Dragon's Egg, 1 point ahead of Big Pearl, and 3 points behind Quicksilver). Crazy Cat's Eye had good midfield consistency, but their form seemed to have dipped since their Round 1 victory in 2017.

2019

Crazy Cat's Eye qualified for the Marble Rally 2019.

Their season started on a high with a convincing win in Race 1, with only a brief challenge from Blizzard Blaster mid-race. However, two poor races followed, including their first DNF since Race 2 of 2017 in Race 3. Their performances picked up and they were able to get a podium in Race 5, which Red Number 3 dominated, behind Cool Moody. Race 6 was another low for Crazy Cat's Eye with an 18th place, but then they bounced back with a win in Race 7, not losing the lead once. Race 8, the final race, was also a decent race for them, coming 7th and competing with the leaders all race long. They finished 4th in the overall standing, the highest championship standing in their career so far. Surprisingly, despite having the most medals this season, they could not break into the final championship podium.

2020

Crazy Cat's Eye was automatically qualified for Marble Rally 2020 due to placing in the top 12 in 2019 and was invited when the system changed late on.

Race 1 for Crazy Cat's Eye started poorly after starting on the front row, but after a section where six marbles crashed, they leaped up into 5th, helped by going slightly off-track on the next turn. They then fought up to second, and after a long battle with Lollipop, took the lead, which they kept despite a challenge by Cool Moody at the end.

Racing profile and analysis

Crazy Cat's Eye exploits good starts to the maximum potential, taking convincing wins in races 1 and 7 of 2019 due to their ability to retain good track position. They have breakneck speed, and their pace seems to get even faster when they have an open track ahead of them. Because of this trait, Crazy Cat's Eye has DNFd multiple times in their career, the most recent being their Race 3 crash in the 2019 season. Despite this, they do hold the record for consistent points finishes (20 races). Other flaws include their incompetence at overtaking in tight congestion, as they often remain in the back of the pack if their starts fail to succeed. Above average defense skills, alongside good overtaking on straights and fast corners, round off their strengths, while subpar slalom navigation is one other notable weakness of theirs. Crazy Cat's Eye is, fitting to their name, an eye-catching racer due to their swift gate releases and consistent pace upfront, while they may need some work on their back row game.
