Crazy Cat's Eye, is a marble competing in the Sand Marble Rally. He has a Marble League team inspired by him called Crazy Cat's Eyes.
Sand Marble Rally career Edit
Crazy Cat's Eye had a really bad season this year. With two DNF's and only 8 points, Crazy Cat's Eye was eliminated after Race 6 at 30th in the standings.
Crazy Cat's Eye qualified for Sand Marble Rally 2017 by finishing first in his Qualifying Race. Given his awful performance in the last season, Crazy Cat's Eye entered the 2017 season as an underdog, but he showed that he had improved much by finishing first in Race 1.
Despite failing to finish the second race in an incident also involving H2 Blue, Slimer, Blizzard Blaster, Ghost Plasma and El Capitan, who blamed Deep Ocean, who caused the six to get stuck on the plinko board mid-race, then he finished eleventh in Race 3, ninth in race 4, and fifteenth in race 5. He had a good 4th place finish in race 6, and another eleventh in race 7. He finished 6th in race 8, and 8th in the ninth race. Crazy Cat's Eye proceeded to keep up with his performance, with a third-place finish in Race 10. Then he finished fifteenth in race 11, and twelfth in race 12. Finally, he finished fourteenth in the final race. He ended the season in 8th, signifying that he had indeed improved from the last season.
He ranked 8th place (losing the tiebreaker to Dragon's Egg, 1 point ahead of Big Pearl, and 3 points behind Quicksilver). Crazy Cat's Eye had good midfield consistency, but his form seemed to have dipped since his Round 1 victory in 2017.
Crazy Cat's Eye qualified for the 2019 A League.
His season started on a high with a convincing win in Round 1, with only a brief challenge from Blizzard Blaster mid race. However, two poor races followed, including his first DNF since Round 2 of 2017 in race 3. His performances picked up and he was able to get a podium in round 5, which Red Number 3 dominated, behind Cool Moody. Race 6 was another low for Crazy Cat's Eye with 18th place, but then bounced back with a win in round 7, not losing the lead once. Round 8, the final race, was also a decent race for him, coming 7th and competing with the leaders all race long, and finished 4th in the overall standing, the highest championship standing in his career so far. Surprisingly, despite having the most medals this season, he could not break into the final championship podium.
Crazy Cat's Eye was automatically through to 2020's Sand Marble Rally due to placing in the top 12 in 2019.
Racing profile and analysis Edit
Crazy Cat's Eye exploits good starts to the maximum potential, taking convincing wins in races 1 and 7 of 2019 due to his ability to retain good track position. He has breakneck speed, and his pace seems to get even faster when he has an open track ahead of him. Because of this trait, CCE has DNF'd multiple times in his career, the most recent being his Race 3 crash out in the 2019 season. Other flaws include his incompetence at overtaking in tight congestion, as he often remains in the back of the pack if his starts fail to succeed. Above average defense skills, alongside good overtaking on straights and fast corners, round off his strengths, while subpar slalom navigation is one other notable weakness of his. In short, Crazy Cat's Eye is, fitting to his name, an eye-catching racer due to his swift gate releases and consistent pace upfront, while he may need some work on his back row game.
