Comet is a cyan marble with a yellow streak going through the middle of him, hence the name 'Comet'. He competes in the Sand Marble Rally, and is currently in the A League. As a veteran contender, Comet has a small but remarkable fanbase.

Sand Marble Rally career

Comet is a marble who noticeably struggles to achieve high places in the Sand Marble Rally, and is often lagging behind in the standings. This is especially true of his early career. But thanks to this experience, Comet seems to have improved very much throughout his career.

2016

In 2016, he finished 20th with 66 points (last excluding the 13 eliminated marbles).

2017

Comet qualified in 2017, but only finished 19th with 55 points (lost the tiebreaker to Big Pearl for 18th), 1 point ahead of 2016 champion Ghost Plasma, who came dead last.

2018

Comet once again qualified for the A League. He once again had a bad first half, and ranked 18th halfway through the season, with one 4th-place finish, and just 18 points. However, he improved over these two seasons by winning his first race in the 5th round of the 2018 Sand Marble Rally championship and finishing 11th overall at the end of the season, scoring 52 points.

2019

He qualified for the A League in 2019 by coming 4th out of the 8 marbles in his qualifier race.

Comet's season started poorly, with a 12th, a 14th and a non-finish in the first 3 races and was in 19th spot after the latter with just 6 points. However, he made a strong comeback, with a fifth in race 6 and finished second in the final race just behind Summer Sky, and placed 10th in the overall standings.

2020

Comet was guaranteed a place in the 2020 season due to coming 10th overall in the standings- the top 12 qualified

Racer analysis and profile

Comet is an example of an experienced mid-field veteran with a small but steady fanbase who "has always been there", but rarely done anything of significance. Having competed in every Sand Marble Rally race held to date, he in fact only notched up two podiums in his entire racing career. His lifetime highlight came in Race 5 (2018), where he scored his only victory by defeating former champion Ghost Plasma in the second-closest finish in the series' history. His other podium was a runner-up finish to Summer Sky in Race 8 (2019). Along with this humiliating distinction of having very few memorable moments, Comet however has also represented an upward trend in terms of pure competition skills throghout his career. He started off with 20th place in the standings in 2016 (and last of the marbles to complete the whole season) and improved his overall position each year, placing 10th last time out in 2019.

Trivia

• Comet is one of only five marbles to participate in all 41 Sand Marble Rally races held to date, along with Dragon's Egg, Ghost Plasma, Slimer and Summer Sky.
