Black Knight is a largely black marble who competes in the Sand Marble Rally. They come from the village of Onyxburgh.

History

2016

Black Knight didn't have a good showing in 2016. They finished the season in 28th and scored just 22 points after being eliminated after Race 6. They stood ahead of White Widow and behind Cobra by the time they were eliminated.

2017

Black Knight improved in 2017 by finishing the season in 9th with 93 points. They recorded their first podium finish in Race 4 with a second-place finish. They finished in front of Lollipop and behind Crazy Cat's Eye in the final standings. They were also one of the three marbles to not record any DNF's throughout 2017, the other two being Glassy and the champion, Dragon's Egg.

2018

In 2018, Black Knight had another great showing. They started the season off with a second-place finish in Race 1. Another runner-up's spot followed in Race 6 before winning their first ever race in Race 7. Going into the final race, Black Knight was in third in the championship standings, and had a chance of winning the championship. However, Black Knight had a bad performance in the final race, running at the back for almost all of it before getting stuck and DNF'ing, their first DNF in 22 races. Black Knight finished the season in 4th place with 75 points, ahead of Summer Sky and behind Superball.

2019

Black Knight automatically qualified for the Championship thanks to their fourth-place finish last year. They would go on to have a very inconsistent season, failing to score any points in 5 out of the 8 races, though they did manage to finish in second place in both Race 2 and Race 7. They finished the season in 14th place.

2020

Black Knight didn't think they would be able to compete in Marble Rally Season 5 due to their poor showing in 2019. Much to their surprise they were invited to compete in the 2020 season after the cancellation of the qualifiers.

Black Knight improved decent after running in the top 3 for most of Race 1 they would finish and suddenly they placed bottom half for the rest of the first half except one this included controversy in Race 6 where after leading for a while they would slump to 18th and sat 17th heading into the winter break. However they redeemed themselves in Race 7 by getting bronze they rose to 14th and after three mid-pack finishes they fell back to 14th and scoring just three points in the final 2 races they would finish 15th place.

Racer Analysis

Black Knight has continually shown that they've got the speed in every season they have competed in, but their inconsistent performances more often than not let them down in each of their Marble Rally seasons, in particular 2016, 2019 and 2020. If Black Knight manages to improve consistency with their performance, they may be able to compete with racers like Dragon's Egg and Ghost Plasma, and maybe even Red Number 3 on a bad day for the double champion and a good one for Black Knight.
