Big Pearl is a tan marble who participated in the inaugural Sand Marble Rally. They were the runner-up of that Marble Rally season, but have since never been able to achieve that peak performance.

History

2016

Big Pearl had a successful 2016 season, with three podiums, including a race win in Race 8. Going into the final race of the season, Big Pearl had a chance at the championship, but after nearly getting stuck early on the course, they missed out with a 13th-place finish in the race. Big Pearl finished 2nd overall in the 2016 season with 173 points.

2017

Big Pearl had a terrible start to the 2017 season with a DNF, but improved by taking a win in Race 2. After a string of DNF's and other poor results, they finished 18th that season with 55 points, barely ahead of Comet and only 1 point ahead of former champion Ghost Plasma, who came dead last. Third place in Race 8 was a rare highlight for their season.

2018

In 2018, Big Pearl improved on 2017 and finished 9th in the A league, but with only one podium finish to their name. Nonetheless, they were still far from their 2016 form, which remains their best in their career.

2019

In qualification for Marble Rally 2019, Big Pearl finished only 7th out 8, resulting in relegation to the Showdown. However, the Showdown proved to be their comeback, as Big Pearl went on to finish two of the four races on the podium, including a race win in Race 2. They thus finished first and was guaranteed to compete in the 2020 Championship.

2020

In September 2020, it was announced that the Race-Off and the Showdown had been cancelled, and that Marble Rally 2020 competitors would instead qualify by means of invitation. Despite their outstanding performance in the 2019 Showdown, Big Pearl was not invited to take part and missed out on the competition.
